 Debra tutored my daughter during Y10 and Y11. I can not recommend her highly enough. She is professional, understanding and extremely knowledgable. Debra gets to know her students, assesses their understanding in Maths and works from there. She has extensive knowledge of the Maths curriculum and the various exam bodies and is always up to date with curriculum changes. Her teaching style is to be admired. She constantly motivated, engaged, encouraged and cared. 

 I would like to thank Beverley for helping our daughter achieve A*s in both her English Language and English Literature iGCSE exams. Our daughter had been feeling dejected with her English but once she started lessons with Beverley, we saw a positive change in her after only a few weeks.  My heartfelt thanks go to Beverley at The Teaching Room for the amazing work she did with my 16 year old son during his GCSE year. My son was consistently achieving low C grades in both English Language and English Literature. His confidence was at an all-time low and he just didn't understand what his teacher required of him when it came to dissecting a novel, discussing characters and presenting a point a view. Beverley encouraged my son to express himself in written form, she taught him extremely valuable examination techniques and, most importantly, she gave him back his confidence. Beverley is a lovely, kind teacher who has the ability to encourage responses from her students. Many times I would hear my son & Beverley animatedly discussing a topic, finishing with laughter from both. The end results speak for themselves... A*'s in both English Language and Literature. You can't get better than that!! 

 I would like to thank Beverley for helping my daughter with her IGCSE English language exam. Even though she took her exam early, she still managed to achieve an A* thanks to Beverley’s brilliant teaching skills. Beverley is not just an excellent teacher, but a very caring person, she went out of her way to connect with my daughter and help her. My daughter is taking her IGCSE English Lit in October/November, and we are very confident that with my daughter’s hard work and Beverley’s brilliant teaching skills, she will achieve another A*.  The progress my daughter Madeleine made was amazing- she went from a grade 4 to achieving a grade 7 in August 2019 for her maths. This was due to the hard work of Debra (& yes of course Madeleine worked hard too). The relationship Debra built with her, coupled with her professionalism was second to none.  Debra worked wonders with our daughter. Maths was always challenging, even more as she was also doing separate sciences & feeling like her maths achievements should mirror her science achievements. Debra was fantastic. Very patient, she built an excellent relationship with her and slowly but surely gave her confidence. When she completed her GCSE in the summer, she did really well. Getting a much higher grade than we’d expected. Whenever she could, Debra fitted extra sessions in for us. She advised us when our daughter was sometimes at saturation point and above all else, was able to teach maths in an easy to understand way. We would whole heatedly recommend Debra. 

 My lessons with Beverley helped me to achieve more than I ever thought I was capable of in my GCSEs. I was thrilled to get a nine in both English Language and English Literature. She had a really good understanding of what I needed to focus on and gave me support outside of lesson time when I needed it. Her lessons were always challenging in a good way and she was understanding if there was something that I particularly wanted her help with. 

 Debra tutored our daughter for GCSE maths for 3 years and during that time we saw her confidence grow from strength to strength not just with her maths but across all of her subjects where she achieved brilliant GCSE grades. I am 100% sure she would not have achieved the sucess she did without the support of Debra. Debra has a really professional approach with a caring nature. These personal attributes helped our daughter achieve her potential. Debra is continuing to work with us tutoring our son for GCSE maths I would highly recommend Debra as a tutor.
